4 Ideas for Profitable Pancake Batter Each Time!

Homemade pancakes are great for foodies, but cooks aren’t always fun.

Me, I like light, fragrant and smooth pancakes! A few simple tips are enough to achieve this.

Here are 4 tips that should help you make your pancakes a success every time!

1. Lump hunting

Let’s start with the flour: I systematically sift it over my bowl to make it finer. If you don’t have a sieve, you can very well use one of these small colanders fine-mesh that is used for tea.

The well-known trick of the well is very important to follow: I dig a small crater in the middle of the fine, sifted flour and incorporate the other ingredients one by one, gradually, while mixing vigorously.

The lumps then no longer have a say!

2. For thin & light pancakes

To make thinner and lighter pancakes, I replace the equivalent of a glass of milk with a glass of beer or cider. No, this is not an excuse to hide any addiction! A more fluid, more supple, easier to cook dough… and this flavor, humm!

And if you don’t like alcohol, rest assured, its taste completely evaporates when cooked. A word of advice: never add milk to your dough if you consider it too thick, it will become sticky and lose all fluidity.

3. Break time

It is advisable to let the dough rest for 1 to 2 hours at room temperature. But here it is, I don’t always have time to wait and my children even less! A simple trick to reduce this waiting time is to use lukewarm, or even hot, milk when preparing the dough.

4. Original perfumes

That’s the bonus, the Chef’s surprise! What flavor will my crepes be today? Flavoring my pancakes changes a bit and always seduces my guests.

I can add a little alcohol: rum, calva, Baileys, Grand Marnier, but what I prefer are citrus zest (orange or lemon.) It goes very well with dark chocolate… Yum!

Cinnamon, vanilla, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, spices abound to enhance its dough. And if my children love my sugar or chocolate pancakes, they love it when I add a little rose water, almond powder or orange blossom.

And now you just have to cook and garnish your pancakes.

You now know all my tips for making lump-free pancake batter for light, fluffy, thin and not dry pancakes.

Treat yourself well!
