Here is a easy, cheap method to take away stovetop grime

Almost every time we cook, a food stain is likely to end up on the gas machine, especially near the burners.

Even more than the shelf, in fact, the burners are those on which the possible dirt stains can become difficult to remove: the splashes of sauces or the food residues which stick to them burn with the heat of these surfaces and become dark spots that we are unable to remove during normal cleaning of the gas machine.

Therefore, it is necessary to periodically pay special attention to the burners, remove the encrustations of dirt and make them like new, and we can do this using a very simple method.

What you will need:

130 grams of Marseille soap, or yellow potassium soap, or Castile soap (or another made from olive or coconut oil)

  • Hot water
  • 1 cup of white wine vinegar (or apple cider vinegar, or alcohol)
  • 1 basin (or large pot)
  • 1 toothbrush

How to proceed :

Reduce the soap of your choice to flakes

Boil the water and pour in the soap flakes, stirring to dissolve them completely.

Pour everything into the bowl and add the cup of white vinegar.

Immerse the different parts of the burners to be cleaned, ensuring that they are well covered by the liquid. If necessary, increase the water and add the soap and vinegar proportionally.

Leave to soak for at least 20 minutes

Rub the toothbrush on the most stubborn stains and let it soak for an additional 3-5 minutes.

Rinse and dry the burners immediately.

You can repeat this process once a week for better results. You can also add a little baking soda dissolved in soapy water, and only add the vinegar after you have soaked the burners. If necessary, you can also do the whole process in an old saucepan, so that you use boiling water. In this case, you will need to protect yourself with gloves and ventilate the room well.
