Why do rust stains appear in the toilet bowl?
If you are wondering what is causing those rust spots in your toilet bowl, know that you are not doing anything wrong and it has nothing to do with you. It is the quality of the pipes and the water flowing through them. There are iron particles in the water, and when exposed to air, they start to rust.
Rust marks don’t mean the toilet hasn’t been cleaned for a very long time, it has absolutely nothing to do with it. You can clean them recently and you will find those unsightly stains there. Your only « fault » is not using the best cleaning methods.

How to clean rust stains on the toilet bowl?
Before you start cleaning the rust stains on your toilet bowl, we recommend that you open the door and window to make sure you are ventilating the bathroom properly. Also use rubber gloves and a pair of eye protection to avoid coming into contact with germs or other chemicals.
With borax powder and lemon juice
The first solution that you can use to clean rust stains is a solution of borax powder and lemon juice. Mix 60g of borax with 30g of lemon juice until you get a paste.
Apply the paste to the rust spots with a sponge and leave on for 4 to 5 hours or overnight. The next day, scrub carefully with the sponge and you will see that the stains are gone. You can repeat the process if the stains do not go away.
With cleaning vinegar
Vinegar and water are a solution to your problem. You need a spray container that you fill halfway with vinegar and halfway with water.
Then spray the vinegar solution on the rust stains, as well as on a sponge, with which you will start to rub the stains. If the stains persist, increase the concentration of vinegar in the solution. Leave the solution on for a few hours before rinsing it off.
With baking soda and lemon
Vinegar can also be used in combination with baking soda. Put a cup of baking soda on these spots, then spray vinegar on them.
Leave the solution on for 30 minutes, then scrub the stains with a toilet brush. If the stains are still not clean, add baking soda. You can also add a few drops of tea tree essential oil, as it has antibacterial properties.
