The dishwasher is arguably one of our favorite appliances, saving us one of the most tedious and painful household chores – washing dishes.
Knowing that you can press a single button and have very clean dishes, especially at a big dinner party, is a real relief.
This is precisely the reason why you have to return the favor and perform a deep cleaning of the dishwasher at a certain frequency. It will also improve the efficiency of the device.
Food and grease residues build up in the dishwasher, which can cause unpleasant odors and reduce its efficiency. Before relying on industrial products, try applying the following glass method to cleaning your dishwasher.
The implementation of the method is really very simple. Start by spreading baking soda over the entire surface of the dishwasher.
Make sure to put the baking soda in the bottom and on the dishwasher racks, but also on the cutlery tray. Half a cup of baking soda should be enough to cover the entire surface, but you can add more if needed.
After dusting the dishwasher with baking soda, fill a glass with white vinegar to the brim and place it in the center of the upper rack of the dishwasher.
Then it’s time to run a wash cycle and wait for the baking soda and white vinegar to do their job, degreasing, disinfecting and deeply deodorizing the dishwasher.
Once the wash cycle is complete, only the glass filled with water remains. Your dishwasher will now be sparkling clean, grease and limescale will be gone and it will smell clean.
Use the glass method to wash your dishwasher at least once a month to keep your appliance clean and efficient.
