After the public announcement of his illness in January 2022, Florent Pagny wanted to refocus on the essentials. With his family, he left France to join Argentina. A freedom that will cost him dearly when in April 2023, the doctors announce to him tumor recurrence lung cancer. Aware of not having followed his treatment during these precious months abroad, the singer returned more motivated than ever to combat disease.

This Thursday, May 25, 2023, the ex-companion of Vanessa Paradis was the guest of Télé Matin on France 2. Interviewed by Julia Vignali, Florent Pagny confided in his life, his career, his wife, Azucena Caamaño and his lung cancer. At 61, the singer seems more in love than ever with the one who has been supporting and supporting him for 17 years. “It’s a chance to meet a person with DNA that matches what you’re missing“, he confessed to the facilitator.
FLORENT PAGNY ANNOUNCES BIG NEWS ABOUT HIS CANCER
A complementarity which allowed the singer to have two grown-up children. A son, Incaa and a daughter Aël, who are the pride of their parents. It is also to see his children grow up that Florent Pagny ensures today that he follows his treatment against the disease meticulously. Indeed, in Télé Matin, he reassured his fans: “This immunotherapy progresses so much thatyou don’t have to deprive yourself of it. For 5 months, I abandoned her, but hey, it’s over”.
It is in front of a positive Florent Pagny that the companion of Kad Merad found herself. “Now I’m getting back on my feet“, he assures. A new motivation accentuated by this very good news that the singer wanted to share: “Chemo is behind me”. “As soon as the chemicals go away, everything becomes more fun”, he continues smiling.
While he seems rid of chemotherapy, he must nevertheless pursue immunotherapy, a revolutionary treatment that has proven itself in the fight against cancer. However, Florent Pagny does not rule out the option of leaving France again, “Mais I will manage to get the product I need“, he says on the air. A second wind for the sixty-something who does not forget that the disease can be deceitful.

FLORENT PAGNY READY TO RESUME THE SONG
“At the moment, it’s nice, it was heavy, but it’s become more fun, but as we know it’s undulating and that it’s going to last a long time (…), We cross fingers”. A still fragile health which does not prevent him from imagining himself on the way to the studios. Florent Pagny explains that he feels ready to resume the song and who knows, the recordings. “There I will begin to sing again. I’m going back to the studioI’m going to work again, because it’s a muscle too“, announces the singer.
A desire to find his old habits driven by his next tour. The interpreter of My Freedom to Think has already planned to perform his songs during his summer festival tour, starting at the end of June. After suffering a relapse of his cancerous lung tumor, Florent Pagny now makes sure to follow the medical protocol recommended by his doctors. Thanks to immunotherapy, the singer could say goodbye to chemotherapy and embrace the joy of recording studios again and who knows, one day join the jury of The Voice again.
