Dan Evans and Alex Stubbs shared their experience of an evening that took an incredibly unexpected turn.
It all started with the idea of having a quiet drink on a Friday night in Merthyr. However, their initial plan was scrapped when they were asked to travel to Magaluf, Mallorca. What could have been just a relaxing evening finally resulted in a spontaneous weekend trip to Ibiza.
Determined to continue their adventure, Dan and Alex quickly put their plan into action. They took a taxi to Cardiff Airport, having taken care to collect their passports and phone chargers at home on the way. However, their plans were thwarted when the flight to Mallorca was sold out, forcing them to opt for a flight to Ibiza, as reported by our colleagues at WalesOnline.
Despite having no hotel reservations or return tickets, the two friends decided to focus on their main objective: partying.
After buying shorts, they immediately headed to the Ocean Beach club, before finding a nightclub to continue their evening full of emotions.
As Dan recounted, “We danced and partied all weekend, until sunrise on Sunday morning when we realized we had to think about how to get home.
However, having only booked one-way tickets from Cardiff, their only option to return was to fly to London Stansted, which is only available on Sundays.

Returning home was not easy for Dan and Alex, given the circumstances of their trip.
With eyes probably tired, they struggled to find a suitable return flight. Nevertheless, they eventually managed to find a flight and arrived in London just in time to be at work on Monday.
Although the return trip was a bit difficult for their bodies, they have no regrets about their experience and are even considering repeating it, as Dan confided, nostalgic for their festive getaway.
In any case, this improvised adventure will remain etched in their memory for a long time.
